If you don’t see a confirmation email after placing your order, please check your spam folder—it’s highly likely your email provider sent it there instead. If you still can’t find it, feel free to reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help.

Our workshops are intentionally small so everyone has plenty of space, support, and time to create. Because of our limited capacity, each cancellation makes a big difference.
Cancel 14 or more days before your workshop: You'll receive a full refund to your original payment method.
Cancel between 48 hours and 14 days before your workshop: We'll issue you a Patchwork credit that can be used toward any future workshop or retail purchase.
Less than 48 hours before your workshop (or no-shows): Unfortunately, we aren't able to offer refunds or credits.
If you can't make it, you're always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend—just send us their name and email before the workshop begins.
If Patchwork needs to cancel or reschedule a workshop for any reason, you'll have the choice of a full refund or a credit toward a future event.
We know life happens, and we'll always do our best to be kind and accommodating. Thanks for understanding that these policies help us continue offering small, thoughtfully curated workshops for our community.

We do everything we can to keep workshops on the calendar as planned, but in the case of emergency, a class may need to be canceled or rescheduled. If that happens, we’ll be in touch with everyone registered as soon as possible and make sure you have options for transferring your registration to the rescheduled date or receiving a refund. We’ll always do our best to make the process as easy and accommodating as possible.

It depends on the workshop! Each class listing includes an experience level to help you determine whether it’s a good fit. If you have no sewing experience, our Introduction to Machine Sewing class is the best place to start. If you’re ever unsure, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you find the right class.
-
We use Janome 4120QDC-G computerized sewing machines in our sewing classes. They’re reliable, easy to use, and a great fit for both beginners and more experienced sewists.
-
Sewing machines are provided for our sewing classes, so there’s no need to bring your own. We always prefer that students use our machines so we can make sure everyone is working with the same setup and our instructors can best support you.
If you feel strongly about bringing your own machine, please reach out to us ahead of time with the make and model. We also ask that you be comfortable using your machine, as our instructors may not be familiar with every machine.
-
We design our workshops with the goal of getting you to a finished project during class, but everyone works at a different pace. We do our best to accommodate each student’s needs and want you to leave feeling happy with your finished project.
For sewing classes, if you need a little more time with the machines after the scheduled workshop, you’re welcome to finish your project during one of our scheduled WIP Wednesday or Sunday Sewcial open studio sessions. For other classes, like Introduction to Embroidery, we’ll send you home with any materials you need to finish your project on your own. We’ll always do our best to make sure you have the time, materials, and support you need to finish your project.
-
There is free street parking around Patchwork. You can generally find parking along Washington Boulevard and on the surrounding residential streets. Please be mindful of posted restrictions and street cleaning signs.
-
These are bring-your-own-craft meetups and an opportunity to work on your own projects in the company of other makers. Bring whatever you’re currently working on—knitting, crochet, sewing, embroidery, mending, or any other portable project. These meetups are intentionally unstructured and do not include instruction or hands-on guidance.
Our sewing machines are also available to rent during WIP Wednesdays and Sunday Sewcials. You can select the machine rental option when you check out.

Not yet, but soon! We’re currently working towards expanding Patchwork into a small retail shop for fabric, yarn, and other fiber arts supplies. Keep an eye out for future announcements!
-
Absolutely! In fact, most people do! Patchwork meetups are designed to make it easy to show up, work on something you love, and meet other people along the way.
-
Yes! We offer private sewing and fiber arts workshops, corporate and team-building events, and private gatherings at Patchwork. We can work with you to choose a project or format that fits your group, interests, and timeframe. Reach out with your group size, preferred date, and what you have in mind, and we’ll be happy to chat through what we can offer.

Because we prepare materials based on the final number of registrations, missed classes and no-shows unfortunately aren’t eligible for a refund or credit. We know it’s disappointing to miss a class, and we’ll always be happy to help you find another workshop that might be a good fit for you.
