Stitch & Sip
The heart of Patchwork Creative is to cultivate community around solitary hobbies & nourish our need for unplugged connection. We felt very aligned in our intentions & decided to collaborate to bring you a night of community, fiber arts & tea!
Whether you knit, crochet, sew, embroider — whatever your fiber form please come join us for an evening of weaving and cozy sips :)
Jai’s lounging area is a shoeless space. We suggest you wear easy shoes as restrooms are located downstairs.
By purchasing tickets/joining this gathering, you agree that photos and videos taken may be used by Jai Tea Loft & partnering publications for social media or marketing purposes. All ticket purchases are final but you’re welcome to transfer your spot to another guest.
Woven Potholder Workshop
Join us as we grab our looms and tap back into our favorite timeless childhood craft!
This workshop includes all materials for making two 5.5”x5.5” potholders — a metal loom, loops in a variety of colors, and weaving patterns — as well as guided instruction throughout. You’ll walk away with a pair of handcrafted potholders, perfect for holding hot pans (or anything hot really), using as trivets, or gifting to a friend.
Cancelation Policy:
Tickets ($45) are non-refundable.
Street parking:
Please allow yourself enough time to find parking before the workshop begins. Please be mindful of our neighbors and avoid parking in Bridge Thrift’s lot.
We look forward to seeing you!
Makers Circle
Join Patchwork for our next Makers Circle on Saturday, 2/21, at 12pm at Frogtown Brewery in Los Angeles. We’re gathering for a relaxed afternoon of making, conversation, and community.
All makers are welcome! Bring your favorite portable WIP—whether it’s knit, crochet, hand-sewing, embroidery, needlepoint, or something else entirely—and settle in with fellow creatives. This is an easygoing, come-as-you-are meetup designed for stitching, sharing ideas, and spending time with people who love to make.
Please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for the booking. We’d love to see you there!
(*The reservation will be under the name Carrie.)
Photo/Video Disclaimer: By joining us, you consent to being photographed or filmed for Patchwork’s promotional use. Although we aim to keep photography and videography minimal and will try our best to primarily capture images without discernible faces, your presence at the event may still be documented.
Fiber Arts “Book” Club
Patchwork’s Fiber Arts “Book” Club is back for our January meeting! Join us on Saturday, 1/31 at 2pm at Barnsdall Art Park for an afternoon of discussion, stitching, and (hopefully) sunshine.
Last month, we explored the history of embroidery with The Subversive Stitch; this time, we’re diving into quilting. Instead of a traditional book, we’ve chosen two short documentary films. Just like a book club, the idea is to watch one or both of these films ahead of time, then come ready to hang out and discuss together at the park.
This month’s selections are:
The Quilters (Netflix)
A quietly powerful look inside a maximum-security prison in Missouri, where a group of men design and sew custom quilts for children in foster care—exploring creativity, purpose, and care through quilting.
How to watch: Streaming on Netflix.
The Quilting Women of Gee’s Bend (PBS)
A vibrant portrait of the women of Gee’s Bend, Alabama, whose bold, improvisational quilts have become some of the most celebrated works of American art, rooted in history, community, and tradition.
How to watch: Streaming for free on PBS.org or the PBS app.
Feel free to bring your latest and greatest portable WIP to work on while we chat. We’ll provide blankets, but you’re welcome to bring a lawn chair or your preferred seating to get comfy.
Hope you’ll join us!
