Join Allie Ancel of Pink Door Store for our first quilting workshop that explores the technical and intuitive aspects of hand quilting and stitching. Learn how to combine fabric, batting, and thread to create your own mini artist quilt. Students will learn quilting techniques such as basting, knotting, various quilting stitches, how to attach binding and how to build texture with stitching. Materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own sewing notions or any fabric scraps that you love.
Artist Bio:
Allie Ancel is printmaker, fiber artist and art educator living in LA. Her brand, Pink Door Store, carries unique stationery and prints that are inspired by vibrant 90’s style, bold textile patterns, and her time spent in nature. Every print and product is made by hand in exclusive limited editions. Her love for textiles is reflected in her use of floral motifs, textured embossing, and stitched mixed media collages. Her prints and textile work aim to spark joy, human connection, and brighten your spaces and places.
