Fiber arts don’t have to be solitary activities! Patchwork is a fiber arts community built around making—together. From workshops to social gatherings, we create space for connection through craft, using our hands to slow down and create.
Where you can learn something new, and make it your own.
Come learn a new skill, or return to something you’ve always loved. Workshops at Patchwork are about more than learning a skill —they’re about making alongside others. We host beginner-friendly classes and skill-building sessions across a range of fiber arts. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced maker curious about a new craft, each class is designed to be accessible, low-pressure, and fun!
Or simply bring your project, and find your people.
Our maker meet-ups are a space to settle in and create alongside others. Bring a project you’re working on, or the one that’s been sitting in your bag for weeks, and spend time stitching, chatting, and trading tips with fellow makers. It’s low-key, welcoming, and open to all levels.

Your new favorite Sunday ritual! Sunday Sewcial is Patchwork’s biweekly open studio hang for fiber artists, crafters, and makers of all kinds. Drop in anytime between 11am–2pm and bring whatever you’re working on—knitting, crochet, embroidery, mending, hand sewing, sketching, or any project that could use a little company.
Think neighborhood happy hour, but for makers: a few easy hours to hang out, sip something nice, make progress on your project, and meet other creative folks in the room. Tea and seltzer beverages included.
Working on a sewing project? Reserve a sewing station with access to Patchwork’s cutting table, irons, scissors, and studio tools, or book a machine for the full session.

Join Malavika Rao for a hands-on workshop exploring the art of slow stitching through the making of a hand-stitched needle book. Whether you’re already a sewist or new to hand stitching, come make your own—a little fabric case to keep your needles and hand-sewing supplies together.
Participants will learn basic hand-stitching techniques while creating a functional, personalized piece embellished with decorative stitches, appliqué, patchwork, and other details.
This workshop invites participants to slow down, experiment with textiles, and transform scraps of fabric into a small, useful object.
No prior sewing experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

Curious about sewing but not sure where to start? This workshop covers the fundamentals and is the perfect precursor to our project-based sew-along classes.
We'll start from the very beginning—learning how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, sew straight lines, navigate corners and curves, and build confidence at the machine. By the end of class, you'll have created a lined zippered pouch to take home and the foundational skills to continue your sewing journey.

Build dynamic fiber art that will make anyone want to reach out and touch it.
Smooth art is great for computers, but let’s add some texture to your craft. Taught by Jamie Maloney of Fault Lines Fiber Art, this workshop will show crafters, artists and creatives how to create texture through embroidery.
What you’ll learn:
First, you’ll learn how to use a few simple techniques with already textured materials for creating a visual and tactile experience. This includes couching fuzzy yarns and ribbons, handling delicate shiny threads and, of course, using beads.
Then, you’ll learn 4 essential stitches for building highly dimensional embroidery using your everyday embroidery floss, including French knots, woven picot, Turkey stitch and buttonhole bars.
What to bring:
Your creativity, your glasses and a snack. All materials will be provided.
This workshop is suitable for beginners, but participants should know how to thread a needle and make a stitch.
