Come spend the day at Patchwork sewing the Henrietta Skirt by Spaghetti Western Sewing, a full, easy-to-wear skirt with a comfortable elastic waistband and gathered panels. In this small-group workshop, you’ll learn how to sew clean gathers, assemble the skirt’s curved panels, insert an elastic waistband, and finish your hem.

This is a great project for confident beginners and beyond, with plenty of room to make the finished skirt your own.

Skill Level

This workshop is designed for confident beginners who are comfortable operating a sewing machine and have completed at least a few beginner sewing projects. You should be familiar with basic machine functions including threading, winding a bobbin, sewing a straight stitch, and backstitching.

If you've taken any of Patchwork's other sewing classes, you're ready for this workshop. This is not an introductory sewing class. If you're not sure, don't hesitate to reach out!

Select Your Size

Before registering, please review the Henrietta Skirt size chart below and measure yourself to determine which size you'll be making in class. Henrietta sizing is selected by hip measurement and spans from 36" to 67" with generous ease in all views.
Please choose your size based on your current measurements. We'll use this information to prepare the correct pattern size for class and, if you've selected the Fabric Provided option, to make sure we have enough fabric prepared for you.

Choose Your Fabric

Bring Your Own Fabric — $175

Bring the amount of light-mid weight woven fabric required for your size, as indicated in the Fabric Requirements chart below. Depending on your size and fabric width, you'll need approximately 3-4 yards of fabric. Please purchase and pre-wash your fabric before class.

Fabric Provided — $215

Prefer to make your skirt with fabric from Patchwork? Choose from our curated fabric options when you register. Options are pictured below. We'll prepare the amount of fabric required for your size, and have it washed and ready for you when class begins.
A note on the color names: the “khaki” linen is more of an earthy, muted green, and the “denim” cotton is not actual denim—it’s simply a denim-inspired color.

Hands-on guidance throughout the construction process
Fabric and matching thread, if choosing the Fabric Provided option

Pre-Work

All workshop students are required by Spaghetti Western Sewing to purchase their own Henrietta Skirt pattern before class. We've arranged a discount code for Patchwork students, which we'll share with you ahead of the workshop.
You do not need to print your pattern before class. We'll have the pattern materials needed for cutting your fabric pre-prepared and ready to use in class.

What to Bring

If you're bringing your own fabric, please bring:
- The amount of pre-washed woven fabric required for your size. Refer to the Fabric Requirements chart below to determine the amount needed.
- Matching thread
You're also welcome to bring lunch, snacks, and any food or beverages you'd like during class. We'll take a mid-day lunch break, but please note that Patchwork does not have a refrigerator or microwave.

Cancellation Policy:

Our workshops are intentionally small so everyone has plenty of space, support, and time to create. Because of our limited capacity, each cancellation makes a big difference.

Cancel 14 or more days before your workshop: You'll receive a full refund to your original payment method.
Cancel between 48 hours and 14 days before your workshop: We'll issue you a Patchwork credit that can be used toward any future workshop or retail purchase.
Less than 48 hours before your workshop (or no-shows): Unfortunately, we aren't able to offer refunds or credits.

If you can't make it, you're always welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend—just send us their name and email before the workshop begins.

If Patchwork needs to cancel or reschedule a workshop for any reason, you'll have the choice of a full refund or a credit toward a future event.

Parking:

If you are driving to the workshop, there is only street parking on Washington Blvd. and surrounding residential streets. Make sure to allot enough time to find parking in advance of the workshop’s start time.
